Mrs. Schilling- 4th Grade Teacher
Welcome to the start of the 2017-2018 school year. My name is Kacy Schilling and I look forward to taking a journey of learning with the fourth graders in room 183 this year. I am a graduate of the University Wisconsin-Milwaukee where I earned my Education degree. I obtained my Master’s degree in Education from UW-La Crosse. Although, this is only my third year at Dickinson as a teacher, many years ago I was a fourth grader at Dickinson. I have spent the last twelve years teaching in Milwaukee and decided three years ago it was time to come back to my hometown. I am excited to be part of such a wonderful school in a close-knit community.
My teaching philosophy is simple, but one to which I strongly adhere: All children can learn! As a teacher, it is my job to provide a safe environment where classroom community is valued and student learning is at the forefront. I believe it is important to look at each child and see how I can help them succeed. With that said, I welcome any information about your child, so I can accommodate them as an individual. I want to excite children about the learning process both within and outside of the classroom. I wish for all children to take responsibility for their learning experiences and know the joy of being a lifelong learner.
